130. De maneras misteriosas
1.
De maneras misteriosas suele Dios aún obrar,
Puede así sus maravillas por los suyos efectuar;
Él cabalga sobre nubes, vientos y la tempestad,
Son sus siervos enviados para hacer su voluntad.
2.
En abismos insondables con destreza y gran saber
Atesora sus designios, efectúa su querer;
Alentaos pues, medrosos, estas negras nubes son
De sus bendiciones llenas, traerán la salvación.
3.
No juzguéis por los sentidos los designios del Señor,
Si parece que las pruebas contradicen su amor;
Descansad en sus promesas, en su gracia confiad,
Estas sombras son el manto con que envuelve su bondad.
4.
Sus propósitos perfectos a su tiempo cumplirá
Y lo que es ahora amargo dulce fruto llevará;
La incredulidad es ciega pues no mira más allá,
A la fe Dios se revela, todo nos aclarará.
1.
In His ways so mysterious, God even now does move,
And thus His miracles He does, His goodness to us proves.
He rides the clouds and on the wind, and with the storm He comes;
These are His servants sent by Him, His own will to perform.
2.
Deep in unfathomable mines of never-failing skill,
He treasures up His bright designs and works His sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take, the clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy, and shall break in blessings on your head.
3.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, nor fight His plans above,
Though the deep testings seem to say that you He does not love.
Rest in his promises alone and trust his wondrous grace,
Those shadows are the cloak that hides His kind and smiling face.
4.
His purposes will ripen fast, unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste, but sweet will be the flower.
Blind unbelief is sure to err, and scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter and He will make it plain.
