22. Tu camino solitario, por donde andaste

Tu camino solitario,
Por donde andaste a la cruz,
De todos desconocido,
Sea nuestro ¡Oh Jesús!
En tu senda Tú sembraste
Gozo, paz y caridad,
Y tu corazón abriste
Para nuestra humanidad.
2.
Allí ¡qué bienes hallamos!,
¡Qué tesoros de bondad!
Siempre viendo Dios en ellos
Amor, luz y santidad.
Por tu sangre redimidos,
Andemos en pos de Ti;
Tuyos ya, de Dios nacidos,
Queremos servirte aquí.
3.
Y si, siguiéndote, acaso
Encontramos el dolor,
O la aflicción afrentosa
De tu camino, Señor;
En flaqueza, con los ojos
Dirigidos a tu faz,
El reflejo mostraremos
De tu santa humanidad.
4.
Esa senda se termina
En el glorioso fulgor
Que en el trono siempre brilla,
¡Hijo de Hombre y Redentor!
Allí, Señor, satisfecho
En los tuyos y en su bien,
Tu amor llenará el pecho
Que en Ti halló su sostén.

auf dem Du hingingst bis ans Kreuz
- von allen ungekannt -,
möge es unser Weg sein, o Jesus!
Auf Deinem Pfade sätest Du
Freude, Friede, Gnade,
und Du öffnetest Dein Herz
für unsere Menschheit.

Welch kostbare Güter finden wir dort,
welche Schätze der Güte!
Wir sehen Gott darin
Liebe, Licht und Heiligkeit.
Erlöst durch Dein Blut
folgen wir Dir nach.
Als die Deinen, aus Gott geboren,
möchten wir Dir hier dienen.

Und wenn wir in der Nachfolge
vielleicht Schmerzen erleiden
oder, die schmachvolle Trübsal
Deines Weges, Herr;
in Schwachheit, unsere Augen
auf Dein Angesicht gerichtet,
spiegeln wir etwas
von Deiner heiligen Menschheit wider.
4.
Dieser Pfad endet
in herrlichem Glanz,
der auf Deinem Thron immer leuchtet,
Menschensohn und Erlöser!
Dort wird Deine Liebe, befriedigt
in den Deinen und ihrem Wohl,
die Brust erfüllen,
die in Dir ihre Hilfe fand.

Thy lonely way,
Where Thou walked to the cross,
– Unknown by all –
Be ours, oh Jesus!
In Thy path, Thou didst sow
Joy, peace and charity,
And Thou didst open Thy heart
To our humanity.
2.
What a wealth we find there!
What treasures of goodness!
God seeing always in them
Love, light and holiness.
Redeemed by Thy blood,
Let us follow Thee;
Already Thine, born of God,
We want to serve Thee here.

And if while following Thee
We may find sorrow,
Or the ignominious grief
Of Thy path, Lord;
In weakness, our eyes
Beholding Thy face,
We shall show the reflection
Of Thy holy humanity.
4.
That path ends
In the glorious brilliance
That always shines in Thy throne,
Son of Man and Redeemer!
There, Lord, satisfied
In Thine and in their well-being,
Thy love will fill the breast
That found its support in Thee.

En paix nous pouvons te suivre,
Jésus, dans l’humble chemin
Où tu consentis à vivre
Inconnu du genre humain,
Avec toi n’ayant personne,
Semant bienfait sur bienfait
Dans ce sentier où rayonne
Le cœur de l’homme parfait.
2.
Quels biens ce chemin nous ouvre !
Quels trésors de charité !
Dieu lui-même n’y découvre
Que lumière et sainteté.
Et désormais, par ta grâce,
Nés de Dieu pour être à toi,
Nous pouvons suivre ta trace,
Objet béni de la foi !

Si notre chair se consume
Dans l’angoisse et le labeur,
Si nous goûtons l’amertume
En te suivant, ô Sauveur,
Sur toi notre œil se repose
Malgré notre infirmité,
Pour refléter quelque chose
De ta sainte humanité.
4.
Mais le chemin se termine
Dans ce pays glorieux
Où luit la face divine
De l’homme victorieux.
Là, parfaits, en ta présence,
Adorant, glorifiés,
Jésus, de ta ressemblance
Nous serons rassasiés.
