De Dios Hijo eternal, del Padre muy amado,
Tú, de su corazón el perfecto placer;
Antes del tiempo ya habías Tú pensado
En la tierra a la cual querías descender.
2.
Con los hijos, Señor, de los hombres hallaste
Tus delicias, y así, ¡oh misterio de amor!,
Dios mismo preparó el cuerpo que tomaste,
En gran humillación naciendo, ¡oh Salvador!
3.
Contemplando, Señor, el miserable estado
Y el abismo del mal do estuvimos aquí,
Quisiste Tú morir, librarnos del pecado
Que por nos, en la cruz, llevaste sobre Ti.
4.
La muerte y Satanás por Ti fueron vencidos
Resucitando Tú; coronado de honor
A buscar volverás pronto tus redimidos,
Y en gloria les pondrás cerca de Ti, Señor.
5.
Nos amas, oh Señor, con amor inmutable;
Mirando siempre estás el curso terrenal,
Guardándonos del mal, en tu gracia inefable,
Hasta que nos tendrás en la gloria inmortal.

¡Oh Cordero de Dios, a su diestra sentado!
Digno eres, ¡oh Jesús!, de recibir loor;
Reunidos aquí, según nos has mandado,
Llenos de gratitud, te adoramos, Señor.

Du, Seines Herzens vollkommene Wonne,
hast schon vor aller Zeit daran gedacht,
auf die Erde herniederzusteigen.

Herr, Deine Wonne war bei den Menschenkindern,
und so, o Geheimnis der Liebe,
bereitete Dir Gott den Leib, den Du annahmst,
als Du in großer Niedrigkeit geboren wurdest, o Heiland!
3.
Herr, als Du unser Elend sahst
und den Abgrund des Bösen, wo wir waren,
da wolltest Du sterben, uns von der Sünde befreien,
die Du am Kreuze für uns trugst.
4.
Tod und Satan wurden von Dir besiegt,
als Du auferstandest, mit Ehre gekrönt.
Bald kommst Du, um die Deinen zu holen,
und sie in der Herrlichkeit in Deiner Nähe zu haben, Herr.
5.
Du liebst uns, Herr, mit unwandelbarer Liebe,
indem Du den Lauf der Erde betrachtest.
Bewahrst uns vor dem Bösen in Deiner unaussprechlichen Gnade,
bis wir in Deiner Herrlichkeit sein werden.
6.
O Lamm Gottes, das zu Seiner Rechten ist!
Würdig bist Du, o Jesus, Lob zu empfangen;
hier sind wir versammelt nach Deinem Willen,
und voller Dankbarkeit beten wir Dich an.

Eternal Son of God, most beloved of the Father,
Thou, of His heart the eternal pleasure;
Before time, Thou hadst already thought
Of the earth, where Thou didst want to descend.
2.
With the sons of men, Lord, Thou didst find
Thy delight, and thus, oh mystery of love!,
God Himself prepared the body that Thou didst take,
Being born in great humiliation, oh Saviour!

Beholding, Lord, the miserable state
And the abyss of evil where we were here,
Thou didst want to die, make us free from sin
Which Thou didst bear on the cross for us.

Death and Satan were defeated by Thee
Thou resuscitating; crowned with honour
Thou shalt come back to pick up Thy redeemed,
And in glory Thou shalt set them near Thee, Lord.

Thou doest love us, oh Lord, with immutable love;
Thou art always watching the earthly course,
Protecting us from evil, in Thy ineffable grace,
Till Thou shalt have us in the immortal glory.

Oh, Lamb of God, seated at His right hand!
Thou art worthy, oh Jesus!, of receiving praise;
Gathered here, according to Thy commandment,
Filled with gratitude, we praise Thee, Lord.

Toi, le Fils éternel, unique, au sein du Père,
Délices de son cœur au suprême séjour,
Avant que le temps fût tu pensais à la terre,
Où tu voulais descendre et t’abaisser un jour.

Tu trouvais tes plaisirs avec les fils des hommes,
Et tu vins dans un corps par Dieu même formé ;
Humble enfant, tu naquis plus bas que nous ne sommes.
Ô mystère profond, des anges acclamé !

Toi qui sondais à fond notre état misérable,
Cet abîme de mal où nous étions plongés ;
Tu mis pour nous ta vie, ô Sauveur adorable !
Ton sang fut répandu pour ôter nos péchés.

Ô Christ ressuscité ! nous chantons ta victoire ;
Ton Dieu t’a couronné de puissance et d’honneur,
Et tu viens nous chercher, Jésus, pour voir ta gloire,
Pour être près de toi dans l’éternel bonheur.

Tu nous aimes, Seigneur, d'un amour immuable ;
Tu nous suis en tout temps dans notre marche ici-bas,
Nous gardant de tout mal, dans ta grâce ineffable,
Jusqu'à ce que tu nous prennes dans la gloire éternelle.

Agneau glorifié ! Sauveur plein de tendresse !
Ô toi qui nous aimas d’un amour infini,
Réunis en ton nom et remplis d’allégresse,
Seigneur, nous t’adorons. Sois à jamais béni !
