139. Gustado hemos, Señor

1.
Gustado hemos, Señor, que Tú eres benigno,
Allegados a Ti, Piedra angular de vida,
Sí, reprobada aquí por este mundo indigno,
Preciosa y sin par, de Dios escogida.
2.
Tú quieres nuestro Dios que como piedras vivas,
En templo espiritual crezcamos a tu agrado;
Ofreciéndote a Ti con fervor nuestras vidas,
Sacrificio de amor, a Ti consagrados.
3.
Por gracia ¡oh Padre Dios!, somos hechos tus hijos,
Cual pueblo celestial a gran precio adquiridos,
Andamos en tu luz, los ojos en Ti fijos,
Mandados por Jesús, por Él sostenidos.
1.
We have tasted, O Lord, that You are good,
We are brought near to Thee, cornerstone of life.
Yes, rejected here by this unworthy world,
But precious and without equal, chosen by God.
2.
You desire, our God, that, as living stones,
In a spiritual temple we should grow for Thy pleasure;
Offering up to Thee with fervor our lives,
A sacrifice of love, consecrated to Thee.
3.
By grace, oh Father God! We are made Thy sons,
Such a heavenly people obtained at a great price;
We walk in Thy light, our eyes fixed upon Thee,
Sent by Jesus, and sustained by Him.
